Descriere
Iguana iguana sau Iguana verde este foarte apreciata ca animal de companie, fiind o reptila exotica de dimensiuni medii. Acestea sunt animale diurne si strict ierbivore, cu pielea acoperita de solzi duri, care pot zgaria. Au gheare puternice, dinti ascutiti si falci masive, iar muscatura si lovitura cu coada sunt destul de periculoase.Lungimea iguanei verzi atinge 1.5-2 metri, coada fiind aproape jumatate din aceste dimensiuni. Aceasta iguana este usor de gasit, nu necesita o ingrijire speciala si poate fi imblanzita cu usurinta. Speranta de viata este de 10-15 ani in mediul lor natural si de 15-20 de ani in captivitate, daca este ingrijita corespunzator.
